98 Jeep Cherokee 5.9. Problem: There is a loud clicking sound coming from the front

driver side wheel. ? The noise gets worse when I turn to the left. The noise started one day when I turned a sharp left one day and a loud popping noise like something cracked came from under the jeep. Just wondering what it may be before I take it to get repaired and they try to get one over on me. Also, how do you get a lug nut off that is stripped?
 
The noise sounds like you may have a wheel bearing going out. As for the lugnut most repair shops have special sockets to remove stripped lugnuts/wheel locks.
