98 Honda Civic hatchback... check engine light on?

When my car sits for a bit... when I first start the car it will start idling all weird and it feels and sounds like it's almost about to stall. When I start to drive it I can't really go fast because my car is still acts weird then it eventually stops as I keep driving. The check engine light will go on when it does this. Does anyone have any idea's what the problem may be? It just started doing that like a couple weeks ago. I love my baby please help :( Thanks!
 
there is a problem with your engine.
1check your the sparkplug for dirt and water
2.check the high tension wire for dirt and water(moist) and loose
3.check the timing for in correct
4.check the fuses maybe blown out
5.check your fuel filter maybe clogged already or have water


dirt,water and improper/loose connection are main reasons of your problem
ok. dont worry about your baby,he/she will be ok.uggh.girl? or boy?
 
Yes, I have a few ideas that would cause this. Your best bet is to get it to a reputable shop and have a professional read and diagnose the code. Obviously it's related to the drivability issue.
