my 98 1500 is continuously popping up misfire codes on all three cylinders of the left side of motor. i have asked this question once before not long ago and got one good response but it did not fix the problem and even made it a little worst. so i am going to try and get detailed of what i done and what is happening.

for the most part the van runs good but the check engine light will come on in about 40-50 miles of driving. codes for cyl. 1,3,5. i mostly did one thing at a time with a full tune up and clear my codes out by disconnecting the battery. the last thing i replaced was the spark plugs that was only a year old and seemed to make a smoother idle and the van ran for over 250 miles before the same codes come up again. so the answer to my question the first time most likely pick up coil in the distributor or know as a cam sensor or the main coil. so i replaced both at the the same time and lost that smooth idle again and the light was back on again in 40 miles.

things i already done

full tune up

moved fuel injectors around [no changes]

compression check all around 140psi

replaced cam sensor and coil

all done last year

replaced both cylinder heads

crank position sensor

fuel pump

i was checking wires today and found nothing wrong. i did unplug the cam sensor while te engine was running and nothing happened. the engine continued to run with the light off beat idle of misfire.

the book i was using said to check resistance of the crank sensor and sould have almost no resistance. i came up with 1.6345 on the meter and in ohms was 4.64k ohms

does any body have any idea why only one side of the engine misfires before i have to get it inspected. it does run good an hate to get rid of it.
