May I say, what the hell was Chrysler thinking when they thought they should put the battery in the fender of the driver side of the car near the left tire!!!!!!!!!!

I bought my 98' Convertible Sebring a few months back. Recently my battery died out completely. Having to buy one. I knew the battery was not located like all other cars but geez, seriously didnt think they actually thought about making it so damn complicated for ppl out there. We thought it was in the front tucked in somewhere, so we went to Autozone (which btw, horrible service!) to get a new one. Guy refused to tell us where the battery went. So after surfing the net for a while, going into the chrysler forum...we found where the battery went. It took nearly 2 hours!! go do everything. Even removing the driver side tire, removing a panel that was near tired to cover battery, and once that....having to take the cover off the battery. Then to put it back together.

HORRIBLE!!!! What did Chrysler forget to put the battery once the car was build? So they just put it there and claimed that it was so that "the battery stay fresh and last longer"?

I personally believe that car manufacturers are making it more complicated to work on your own car for a reason, on purpose.

It is so you have to take the car back to the dealer and pay the dealer who has the know how.

Take care of your dealers, eh?

Sell your car immediately! Consumer Reports list the Chrysler Sebring as the most unsatisfying car ever. Basically the worst car ever. They are terrible cars! (along with the dodge stratus and cirrus line ups). Just pieces junk.
