I'm a little stumped here and I don't really much about cars but I know just the basics. My car is having some issues but before you say take it to a shop I need to know could possibly the problem here.

It has about 160,000 miles and has been recently serviced:
- Oil Change
- Radiator Flush
- Transmission Flush
- Differential Fluid Changed
- Fuel Filter / Fuel System Cleaned

The were times that I would press the gas it seemed like it hesitated and times I don't. It's almost if you were pumping the gas effect with the power flickering on the car. My check Engine Light was also flickering and now it starts. I asked a friend of mine and they told me it could be a lot of things but I'm not quite sure what it could be. I don't think its the transmission because the times it doesn't hesitate it shifts gear smoothly.

On the side note I haven't changed my air filter yet so I'm going to do that tomorrow and reset my check engine. If it happens again then it has to be something else ... but what? fuel pump? fuel injector? what could it be ? I don't really want to spend so much on the car because I've already put more then what it's worth.

Thanks in advance
Check Engine light stays on **** (not start)
