car has power-lights,horn,radio are ok.Try and start and all i get is a clicking sound. If it is the starter could someone tell me where it is located.Thank you
The car is an automatic-will thecrewdriver trick still work.Tried a jump and still got only clicking.Would a bad solenoid cause any of this?

Try putting a jumper on the battery ,if it starts its your battery, and if it doesn't start its your battery connections or possibly a bad starter.

yes it's the starter motor if it's only one click...... the starter is located on top of the flywheel.... which is where the engine and gearbox meet..... or if you follow the positive lead back from the battery, you should find it... the lead will also go to the alternator which is at the front of the engine with the fan belts etc, don't get these confused

that clicking can be the starter, it's not engaging... a test you can do is...

wear rubber shoes just for %100 safety.. use a long screw driver to short the terminals on the starter.. you'll have to fiddle around getting the right spot, but if you get a screwdriver so it touches both the terminals, you should get action.... make sure the car is in neutral if it's a manual if your going to do this

or it could be just a low battery.... do the lights dim when you try and start it???
