replaced diag. center? 95 grand cherokee with a rear lamp failure message is coming on my diagnostics center. I have checked all bulbs and they all work and replaced ones that werent bad anyways. I replaced the diagnostics computer as well thinking it was just acting up and same thing. All bulbs work but computer says that a rear lamp out. Now i got pulled over the other day and a cop said my license plate light were out and found him to be right. Wiggled the wires at home and they came on. Now with them on i shut the vehicle off and reset computer. Started it and checked all lights to be on and still says lamp out. The only other thing i can tell you is that it will tell me this rear lamp out after i hit the brake pedal. Anyone think it could be brake switch? Any other ideas or had the similar problem? Im an ASE Cert. mechanic of 28 years for Ford/Gm/Jeep and this has got me stumped. So please no stupid answers. Any intelligent feedback will be appreciated and this is the first thing in forty years of working on vehicles i havent been able to figure out right off the bat. If you can one up me ill be impressed, thank you very much!
