Like the question says, my 95 Honda Civic DX has is leaking oil from the distributor cap, and after some research I think I need to replace the shaft seal (O-ring?). A few questions that you could help me with would be awesome!
-Do I need to replace the distributor cap and rotor also?
-Is this something I can do myself (I'm pretty handy and have replaced lots of things in my car- hoses, air filter, battery, spark plugs, and dist. cap and rotor on my old car)
-I recently replaced the spark plugs, and noticed that one of them (no. 2) was covered in oil also. Should I replace the valve gasket/well seals also? Can I do THAT myself?
-Is this an ASAP job? What's the worst that could happen? (I work/drive 7days a week and my next days off are the last weekend of the month, will it last until then?)
-Is there any other parts I might need?
Any advice would be much appreciated. I noticed the problem because I had to replace the battery, and while I was at it noticed the oil. I put a cardboard down one day/night and would say maybe like 3 tablespoons of oil leaked onto it (over about 16hrs), so I know I have to check my oil often. I could ask a friend to help too (he replaced my radiator and showed me how to do most things on my car, lol) but then I'm at the mercy of whenever he's available.
