95 Ford Escort hard to start and shudders while accelerating?

My escort wagon cranks for a while before it starts unless i turn key on for a few seconds before cranking now it has started shuddering while heavy acceleration the plugs and fuel filter were just changed now i'm thinking need to replace the fuel pump. I have a possible cracked head or gasket issue loosing coolant into exhaust could it be related or a seperate issue
