i am looking into possibly purchasing a 1995 dodge avenger. this car is really nice does have 145,923 miles. it is a ES v6 24 valve ,clean new tires runs good transmission slips. i talked to the guy and he said he's not sure of the exact reason it slips but it is driveable. when it shifts into second sometimes it does not engage and you have to let off the gas for it to catch. just wanted to know if anyone has ever had this issue or if you think you may know what the problem is. whether it's a cheap fix or a very spendy one. thanks
yeah they want 600 for it. it's in good shape except for that factor. thanks for the heads up!

have transmission check at a shop best
truth is dodge know for bad transmissions

35 yrs of driving and working on cars
dodge always been a bad choice
and stil ranks low of great cars to have

drain and replace fluid and filter might help it but it wil only get worse and it might be too late already

if you pay more than 500$ its too much. My dad sold a high milage concord with the same issue same year for 100$. He found out later the tranny totaly went about a month later. Your looking at a new transmission and then its not worth it. DO NOT BUY IT.
