95 Chevy diesel won't start..... makes a ticking noise near the fule pump?

We drove into town and back no problems then an hour later my husband goes to leave for work and the truck won't start. Making a ticking noise near fuel pump, all lights and heater are working. Any ideas?
The wipers and stereo haven't been working for a while and the problem is electrical......
 
With an electrical problem, it could be many things. Your best bet is to get it to a Chevy dealer and have them plug in the diagnostic computer. It should pinpoint the problem in seconds. I'd just be guessing and would give you dozens of possible sensors, relays and wires to check. The ticking noise is probably the fuel pump and it's normal to hear ticking as they cycle. Does the starter turn but it just won't start? That would say something in the injector relays to me.
