95 CADILLAC FLEETWOOD?

i just bought a fleetwood and it was all fine and gravy. car has 50K and looks awesome... only problem i was having is that when i put the car in reverse it would start shaking THEN go (( no big deal )) but today i put the car on R and it didn move at all...i slamed on the gas and nothing! WHAT IS WRONG WITH MY CAR??!!! it wont go into reverse at all. this is a very big HUGE problem, will it cost me ALOT to fix??!!
 
Most likely the transmission is shot. The reverse clutches were chattering before and slipping. Now it wont move. Most likely you will need a full transmission rebuild. Cost between $1500-2000.
 
i would change the fluid and filter then maybe the linkage is off some like it shows reverse but it,s in neutral.
