94 Toyota car alarm troubles?

I'm installing a new stereo in my cousin's 94 Toyota Corolla, when I reattached the battery the alarm went off. I've tried using the key in the ignition with no luck, and the key won't turn left in the door, only right. Is there another way to disable it. I don't have a remote either
