I have a manual 94 honda accord lx coupe. On my way to work, leaving from a stop light suddenly the speedometer jumped up and down a few times then dropped to zero and after about 10 seconds the check engine light came on. The car is running just fine and actually had its routine maintenance about 3 weeks ago. If allowed to sit for awhile turned off when restarted everything seems to be fine till I hit about 20 mph then the speedometer drops to zero and up to a minute to 5 minutes later the check engine light will come on. All of the other gauges are operating fine it is only the speedometer that quits then the light comes on. What is the most probable cause of this and is it still relatively safe to drive my car?
