Can someone please answer these 3 questions ?
1. My new 1993 honda civic dx with 99k miles on it has slow pickup from 2st to second gear and it's an automatic. Is this because it only has like 80 hp, or could there be a tranny, engine, timing belt, etc. issue ?
2. How can I figure out when the last timing belt was changed?
3. I can' t find the answer online, where is the trans fluid for a 93 honda civic dx located ?
4. Regardless of if the trans is going, was it still a good deal to buy this honda for 1900 bucks since the trans, etc. are cheap for Hondas ?

Thanks

not a good ideal to buy any car that needs work when you can buy one that dont need any work at all
slow pick up could be transmission slipping or it just needs a tune up but stil goes back to neve r buy a car that needs work

if its a manual you check by a square plug on side of trans remove plug stick little finger in hole touch fluid its good
if its auto pull dip stick which most of time on right side of car

cant find when any work was done any way but asking last owner if he done it still fals back to never buy a car that needs work

i payed 1900 for my car 6yrs ago got in it been driving it since i replace the oil and brake a few times nothing more than a tune up no oil leaks no bad transmission never buya car that needs work might spend 1900 making repairs and it wil stil be worth 1900

if the engine rpm goes lower when this happens, it's an engine problem, if the rpm goes higher and the car doesn't move, your transmission is slipping. the dipstick is red towards the front lower part of the engine bay behind the radiator hose i think. start the car, and check the level of fliud. it should be reddish in color. if it is more brown and smells burnt up you have a transmission problem
