92G Army Cook question?

Okay so pretty much, this was over a month ago, I signed and swore into the Army. Before I went to MEPS though my recruiter already reserved my job as long as i passed MEPS. I did. The job was 92G food operations specialist. Now this was probably the LAST job I ever imagined taking going into the military. I planned on infantry, combat engineer something along those lines and they were both available jobs to me. I asked my recruiter for combat engineer but he explained the job and my mom was like "hell no" so then I said fine I want infantry, but he told me (I wanted to get Airborne) he can not guarantee me Airborne if I take infantry he said if I took the cook job he could guarantee me an Airborne option. I was reluctant to take the job but he was telling all the great things about being an Airborne cook seeing as he is one. And after going back and forth I decided to take the cook job and get my airborne and switch to infantry later if I still wanted.

Now I was wondering what the food operations job is really like. To me I didn't want it because I thought all i was gonna do was cook for all the real fighters and wash their dishes after wards. Not how I saw my self in the Army. But it guaranteed me Airborne so im excited for airborne school and my recruiter said its a fun job and its fast promotions and everyone wants to be your friend for more food and things like that. Is he telling the truth, it is his job so he obviously knows what its like.

But going in as an E3 (JROTC and recruit promotions before basic) what is the job going to be like? How is the training?
