I have a 92 Honda Civic SI, just got from my dad.
It was running fine a month ago.
I had it parked since then, waiting for registration to come through.
Tried to start it last week, hear a click or two, then nothing.
Changed battery because I knew it was old anyway.
Now same problem.
If I put the key in, the car beeps, turn to position 2, radio comes on, engine lights, etc work fine.
Move to position three (try to start) with clutch not depressed, electrical stays active
Now, move to position 3 with clutch depressed, hear one or two clicks, no engine turn over, electrical systems all die. If I just wait 30-45 mins, the electrical comes back on when key is pushed into position one or two.
Tryiong to jump start gives same results.
Is this ignition switch? bad relay? What are next steps to diagnose?
Thanks!
