91 Ford Mustang GT 5.0 V8?

My friend is wanting to sell a Ford mustang... I was thinking about buying it but i would like to know a few things from another source before putting in the investment.

This would be my first car so i dont want it to be a total piece of shit lol..

Its is a..

1991 Ford Mustang GT 5.0 V8
150k Miles
New tires
ok paint job...

Asking $4,000

My Most concern if i dont know at about what milage these mustang usually break down...

I am a total novice with anything concerning cars lol but it is my understanding that what holds the miles is the motor... i called my local junk yard and they have an engine for this car for $350 that has 56k miles.

Would it be worth it to buy this car and buy the new engine or just buy the car or not buy it at all??

Please link some sort of Forum or Webpage backing up your facts..

on a 302 motor aka 5.0 i would make sure you change the timing chain and make syure the egr vavle works. take the car to a mechanic and have him look at the motor and give you his opinion. on the motor and rest of the drive train. if you feel up to is swap the motor later on with that one from the junk yard but you never know whats wrong with a junk yard motor unless you take it apart. you can buy thr car and the junk yard motor and rebuild the junk yard motor in the mean time just baby the 150k motor
