will help!!!? Please I don't know what to do!!! Any input would help.my dad drove his car to his meeting car was running fine was low on fuel tho. Bought all new spark plugs they are all getting spark. The new ones smell like fuel but no fire. We can turn it over and sometimes it putters like it wants to fire but won't. It's turning over jus fine we tryed starting fluid that didn't do it either.I was looking around online some told someone else it might be the ECM? I'm not sure please help we don't have the money to take it to the shop right now! Like I said any input will help thanx all

I have owned 2 Colts and I had to replace the ECU in both cars, the first I spent a lot of money tracking down the problem so I learned just replace the ecu it is a pretty common problem on the 89-92 colts

My son runs his car on low gas all the time and he never can get it started and his dad can not get it he just changes the fuel filter then it will start. If I go and do the starting fluid which they have already done I can get it. Did you have someone spray starting fluid and you turn the key right away and hold the gas paddle to the floor you might have to do it more then a few times my sons cars takes about 4 times. be careful not to flood it. I do it and then wait about a minute and do it again. If you get it started don't let go of the gas paddle for a few minutes. Try trouble shooting at autozone.com

it sounds like you have a bad or broken timing belt. have you checked it. there is usually an inspection cover on the upper timing belt cover that you remove to look at it. it is a small round plastic plug that pops out to look at the belt.if it does not have one, you have to remove the top half of the cover to inspect it.

check for fuel pul a line off and crank it over once or twice to see if there is fuel at top of motor old way also pull plug wire and plug put plug back into wire lay on medal and crank over look for blue spark no spark get a coil if no fuel replace filter or pump id say running it low on fuel got trash or water inside of tank now needs a bottle of fuel treatment or more gas in tank
