I bought a 9200 back in Nov/06 and at that time the installer either gave me a coupon, or it came from the box (not sure on this, didn't watch were it came from). He said to mail it in for a $90 programming credit.

Does anyone know what this is about? It has not showed up on my account yet and I called Bell and they said they can not find any such promotion going on around the time of my purchase.

Any help would be appreciated, especially if you know the name or details of the promotion so I can call them back.

Yes free upgrade kit promo...you send back the coupon and then we'll give you 6 monthly credits of 15$ on your programming

Have you sent the coupon back?

If you have the coupon, send it in! It takes a while, but as mentioned above, they will give you six $15 credits.

I bought the upgrade kit on Echo Bay and was able to use the coupon.

HTH

i think the coupon was only valid to those who paid for the upgrade kit???
now they are free, if you require them (pay for it, and it is credited back to your account)
thats what i was told by a friend who tried to send it in for the rebate

The way Direct Sales proceed for what we call "free upgrade" is that they charge the client on the credit card for the value of the upgrade kit and then credit them if they get the coupon back and the client actually took some paying Nimiq 2 stations such as HD value pack, aOV movies, Male FliXXX, international channels, Sports 3 or Variety 3. If client didn't suscribe to any of those theme packs then HE WON'T GET REFUNDED

I belive store works differently and that you don,t pay nothing at all. In both way send the coupon, it could only work in your favor.

Please don't become so greedy with "FREE" coupons. There is always a price to pay for such things to become "FREE." ;) :D

amen to that nimiq
its funny, how people are willing to spend $2000-$3000 on their HDTV, another $1000 on the surround sound system, $500 to get the flat screen wall mounted, and everything hooked up
but then when it comes to getting a new receiver installed, it should be free (i guess because all of the money is spent already...)????

There is a major difference though I HATE TV.... When you buy all that gear, you are not paying them extra money for using it....It's paid for totally.
When you get a receiver, you do not get the usage free...you pay every single month for using it for years to come....Don't forget that....I'll lend you my car for free if you are willing to pay me money for every kilometer you'll drive with it and I'll set the price. There will be a basic charge for the right of using it, even before you actually start the car, then I'll charge you a kilometer rate for basic driving but if you want to drive in luxurious districts, I'll also charge you a premium... :-)

That doesn't seem fair or customer friendly. Digital Standard includes 16 Nimiq 2 channels, not counting 4 HD Nimiq channels. The customer could buy, at any time, including separately at the time of installation, an HD receiver from a third party. If ExpressVu is selling a package whih contains Nimiq2 programming (and by definition every package does since Digital Standard is the base), doesn't it follow EVERY customer is entitled to the Nimiq 2 upgrade?

In other words why would they give you money when they are not making money of you?

You are not bringing them buisness requiring that extra piece, since all clients do have Digital Standard, and that addition doesn't bring then extra money...

But they are selling you 16 SD and 4 HD channels, presumably charging you for them since they are included in Digital Standard, and then saying there is an extra installation fee for receiving them. I'm not convinced a lot of newbies will get that distinction and later discover they have been paying for these all along and don't get them. My point is this is customer unfriendly.
