90 honda xr 250 dirt bike wont start help!?

I bought the bike in non running condition, hoping to get it running myself before I give up and send it to the shop. The kick-starter is missing so I tried to push start it, by pulling it with a car. I pull the clutch then put it in 1st then open the throttle. I dont hear anything from the engine at all. Does this seem spark related or compression related? Thanks for any help!
 
clean your carb and put a new spark plug just to make sure. if nothing then, get a new kick starter and put gas in a little spray bottle and spray it in to the carb( take off air intake and spray there). or when you do get a kicker kick it 6 times no throttle then 6 times with throttle. or try towing it again and try dropping the clutch in all the gears. if nothing then.....just say fuck it and give it to the shop. they'll get it started no problem.
