My 9 yr old daughter is starting to show the first signs of acne...little bumps on nose and chin. I know she is not very good about washing her face, so I am thinking maybe it is just trapped oil and dirt in the pores. Any suggestions on what I should have her try?? She is not oily, so I dont want to dry her up and she is very young. Thanks! Kat

It might be just trapped oil, especially if she is active or in sports. My son is 12 and quite active in sports. He has small bumps on his nose and forehead. I encourage him to wash twice a day with cetaphil and he uses otc acne paRAB on his face at night. It seems to be helping. I took him to the derm, and that is what they suggested for now.

don't jump to conclusions too soon. just set up a regular day n night skin care regime for her. don't even include any acne meRAB or creams. maybe she just neeRAB to wash away the dirt and bacteria that gets trapped in our pores everyday. have her use a really gentle cleanser and moisterizer (w/ spf) that are just for regular skin types and just make sure that she sticks to it. i really think that it's all she neeRAB. . .good luck!

Thanks to all...I have her washing her face PM and AM with a washcloth and it seem to be helping a litte. I took her to her doctor yesterday for a checkup and I asked her about daughters "acne". I was surprised that the dr said for my daughter to use Oxy 5 BP cream. I could not even find it at my store and I feel like that will be too harsh for her tender skin. I am just going to have her washing better and see if that helps.
