89 Dodge Dakota electrical problem?

I'm haven a problem with my 89 Dodge. its a v6 3.9L, I just replaced the battery and alt. tho I am still losing a small amount of power as I drive, it has a internal built volt reg in the alt so I know its not that. and When ever I use the head lights and turn singles I start to lose power, my volts drop at alarming rate. Any ideas on what it might be?
 
It sounds like you have a short in your three way switch. I just had to replace mine in my 1998 Dodge Dakota V6 3.9L. My headlights, dash, and taillights would just shutdown...by wriggling the three way my lights would return, temporally, but hitting a speed-bump would knock them out again. Since your headlights are affected, my guess is the three way switch. Hope I helped, some.
