I believe its a matter of preference; Some people like Vanilla others like Chocolate. I own both and prefer the 8820.

The 8820 is cool looking, however no camera. That is perfect for those employees that are not allowed to have one.. That's really the main difference. but yes, ill keep my curve

I'd pick one up if it had a camera. I think that's the only barrier to me purchasing it; sure would be nice to have GPS and Wifi. Guess I'll have to wait for the 89XX haha.

Its already out. You can order it from their website or some 3rd party website. It has been out since Jan I believe.

I'm thinking the reason they would choose the 8820 over the Curve because some people aren't allowed to have camera phones on the job? That's my guess, I haven't ran into that type of problem or either that, they have no need for a camera on their phone.
