Shine's ergonomics felt horrible, and the scroll wheel wasnt all the scrolly. 8801 has a better slider, feels more solid and still has appeal.

I actually met him earlier to look at it. It had some minor scratches on the glass though. Would Fido still assist me in repairing or supporting this phone if it wasn't bought from Fido directly?

No. Fido won't be of any help for that. And I'm going to change things up here and say that the LG Shine is the better phone to get. The 8801 is pretty ancient tech wise.

8801 has 850 and th eshine doesn't. that should usually be enough if you're living in 850 territory. However, the 8801 has crap battery life and crap camera compared to the shine so......

w810 beats em both imho or why not the e50. that's also a good all round phone.
