"88 Minutes" just released.........but I saw it 2 years ago ?

The new Al Pacino film, "88 minutes" has just been released this week in America and entered the box office at number 4. But I saw this film 2 years ago on a bootleg...........I remember hearing at the time that the film was so bad which was why it was'nt released, and after watching it I had to agree. It realy was bad to the point of embarrisment, probaly one of the most cringeworthly bad films I have ever seen.

Does anyone know if the film has been re-cut to improve it.........I would be suprised if it was released in it's original form - if it was too bad to release 2 years ago whats changed ?
 
According to various posts on imdb it was released outside the US two years or so ago but there were lawsuits that prevented it being shown in the US. So it's already on DVD in Europe even though it wasn't given a theatrical release.
 
It definitely is. Just look it up on amazon.fr - it's in stock. Proxis (Belgian online store) has it in English with Dutch subtitles. Wikipedia says it was originally released on DVD in Israel and pirate copies came to Europe via that route, but would legit stores like Amazon and Proxis sell pirate DVRAB?.
 
Same thing happened with Sin City for me. I managed to 'find a copy' on dvd, and just put it with the rest of my collection. About 3 months later I began seeing trailers for its cinema release on the telly.
 
It was nearly two years ago that I saw this movie. It wasn't bad, but then again, it wasn't great either. It's worth a viewing... but only once mind. This being late in arriving is as bad as the first Hellboy. I saw it one and a half years before it even hit the cinema in the UK and that was a legit copy as well. WTF?. Oh well their loss init for delaying it to the UK audience, ha.
 
I got a legal dvd of Hellboy with a gorgeous slipcase before it was even in Cinemas here too, that was a lovely find :) Didn't happen with the sequel though.
 
i just got around to watching this film, i really enjoyed it. ok some of the acting was a bit pants but it had me guessing throughout, even though i first suspected the right person, they make everyone seem a potential suspect so you keep re-evaluating its good imo
