i was driving my car when all of asuden it turns off while i was turning.. so i stopped and started back up.. it ran for about 5 blocks more.. then as iam at the stop sign i make a left turn then the car shuts off.. it didnt jerk or idle rough it just cut off like it wasnt getting spark.....
i tried starting it again and nothing... it would only crank.. so i had the car pushed back home... i tinkered with it and shook tha tank thinking it was a fuel problem but the tank was full and the car wasnt hesitating for more gas it just shut off.... then i checked for spark.. i pulled off a sparklug wire and grounded it with a screwdriver to the bolt and had my friend crank it to check the spark and i felt it. and by doing so the car began to fire back up and now runnning but with only 3 cylinders. so i pluged the fourh wire back in and once again the car is running fine... so my question is
what could have caused this?
...bad distributor, bad wires or sparkplug...
i know it couldnt have a gas problem im almost certain it was an elctrical problem
it was odd becuse it never did that to me.. i would drive it everywhere.. hot cold no problem its just that i didnt even get into the main roads from my house before it died... it died probably 6 blocks from my house still fairly cold

there are a number of possibilities, a bad coil, a faulty ecm, a poor connection somewhere. The first thing I would do is clean and check all your grounds. If it is a component that acts up just when it is hot get yourself one of those duster cans for cleaning computer keyboards etc. and use it to cool whatever component you think maybe faulty, this may help you pinpoint your trouble
