8700C Keyboard/ keypad wont light up anymore

i have an 8700c v4.2.196 the keyboard light wont light any more. i though it might have been the battery, but i change it to a new battery and the keyboard still wont light...I checked my settings and everything seem to correct!! HELP the screen light fine..

I would say to run an application loader and reload the OS. If that did not fix it call carrier for an exchange.

yes i reinstalled the OS system and still nothing...anyone know ball park how much this will cost to get fixed?
