At the T-Mobile web site, without a contract extension, the 8700g is $399 and the Pearl (all colors) is $299. The 8700g is a pretty good device, but a hunnert bucks more than the Pearl?

At Ebay, the Pearls start at $179 and up, and the 8700g model starts at $125 and up. Who's gonna pay TMO $399 for a 8700?

well the 8700g is a full qwerty, with a larger display. i do think that the processor on the 8700g is faster than the pearl. i could be mistaken about that, plus the pearls are in high demand. so they can cost a little less because more consumers would purchase the pearl over the 8700g

Well the 8700 is still a very popular model among power users. I think it's the best BB built out of the series. One of my bosses who upgraded to the Curve after her 8700 died, said to me (as I was gushing over how lucky she was to have the Curve), "you like this? I'd swap you if I could. I miss my old blackberry, I hate this."

I went from the 8100 to the 8700 so I can't really blame her. It has a solid feel, a keyboard that once you get comfortable with it you don't want to leave it and a very vibrant display along with a loud speakerphone, tough casing that can take a beating and still look great and amazing battery life (I don't even need to use my Seidio extended battery for it, just stock). If it had a camera I would just continue to ride with it.

IMO, it's worth more lol.

Yeah I hear you. Ice got both 8700 and a pearl and I couldn't live without them. I don't know what I'm going to do when I get the curve~via BB (wap.rabroad.com)~
