8700 As Modem (TMobile Users)

~via BB (wap.rabroad.com)~can I use the 7105 to conect as well or is this only on the 8700? Also could some one tell me how to add my pin to my name like you all have?

Good morning, (I think I eroneously posted this on another thread as well)

I'm trying this out and I get an error "692. There was a hardware failure in the modem". I have desktop manager running an connected to the BB. All other settings/strings are correct per the above instructions. Any idea what I've done wrong?

Thanks!!

Lemme check. I think this is an actual windows error and doesn't have to do with the berry itself. I ran into a couple errors when doing this the first time and I think that was one of them.

This behavior can occur if any of the following conditions exists:

Interesting you should ask about the DM version. I downloaded 4.1.1.12 from the t-mobile site as stated above. I uninstalled the version I installed when I got the BB. Installed 4.1.1.12, hooked up the BB and started DM. Connected no problem. The file for the download is called 41112dtMULT.exe. Sounds right, right? but when I look at "about" on DB it says version 4.1.1.9. I'm running XP Pro SP2 and I do have the initialization code as listed above.

ok, I'm in now. Woo Hoo!!! I reinstalled the DM again (still said 4.1.1.12). Then I got the 736 error above, then I deleted my connection and set it up again and voila! Very Very Cool. Thanks N8!

Hi all! Ok I got my 7105t to work as a modem but I am having a couple of issues.
1. I am connected but after 15 to 20 minutes it stops loading.
2. This morning I tried it and the internet connection said I was connected but when I opened up IE a window popped up telling me I wasn't conected to the internet and to cancel or try again. Can any one help me? Pretty please.

Also Tomtester wrote "I had the same 736 problem.
I closed all internet-related apps on the 8700 that were hidden (cycle via alt-esc)
I removed the SPACE from the advance settings (so no space before wap):Code:+cgdcont=1,,"wap.voicestream.com" and logged in with an EMPTY username and password.
Anyway, it works, as I'm typing this on that connection. ;-) (115.2KBit/s it says)
TT."
What is the esc button on the 7105t? Is it the button under the scroll wheel?
Thanks

First off, the back button that I believe you are referring to is the one that is located under the trackwheel.

Second, when 15-20 minutes it stopped loading, were you in a spotty coverage area, or by chance did you have a call that was incomming? I kind of like to compare these to the old dial up modems with call waiting. Sometimes (from my experiences) it won't ring but all of a sudden you will get a voice mail pop up. Sometimes it will suspend the connection and your phone will actually ring. Sometimes it just freezes up. Guess just depending on whatever mood your berry is in at the time.

As far as being connected and IE saying it wasn't, the only thing that I can recommend is just try your connection again. I have used Internet Explorer, Firefox and Opera on my Laptop when connected through the Blackberry, and Firefox is the best that I have come across so far with a Blackberry connection.

Hope this helps. Lemme know.

~via BB (wap.rabroad.com)~thanks N8. Tonight I will try and download firefox. It seems my BB has violent mood swings and only works when it wants to. Thanks for your help.

That is amazing. Thankyou for the idiots guide, which is what i always need. I am sending this message using the bbery connection. I did have to remouve the space before wap. for reference you might want to change that in the explanation at top for everyone who copies and pastes it like me.
Thankyou again, cheers johnny
