My 86 Buick somerset never had this problem till about a month ago, in the mornings on my way to work when i reverse out of my drive way i put it into D and wait at least 20 seconds for it to go into Drive to hurry it up i put it into D and rev it to 3000 RPM and after 3 or 4 seconds it will it Drive hard and be good.

This happens only when it is fully cooled down.
What could be wrong?

your transmission filter is clogged, the transmission fluid is essentially a thin version of motor oil. oil changes with temperature, it gets thick with cold weather. the media of the transmission filter is very dense so a thick fluid will have problems getting to it. consider investing and do both a transmission flush with a proper flush machine, about $80 and replace the transmission filter.
