Ditto, What he said....

If forums are to be considered in context, then their purpose, in essence, should be to convey "conversation" (within the limits of electronic media). If that's the case, then information, opinions, discussions and disagreement are all acceptable.

I'm not here to post any character reference on behalf of Sth Aus, or others, but his initial post had far more passion and fervour and respect for Ducati ownership than any concern for monetary gain in the process.

There are many here that wish to share experiences, knowledge, and helpful information. That's a good thing. Threads that whine or bitch about extraneous issues, including money, are really insulting to owners, and embaressing to Ducatisti in general (It's important to note here that many non-Ducatisti, or even would-be Ducatisti visit here. It doesn't bode well for the community when people raise 'money' as a some kind of topic-worthy thread).

If this were a "conversation", in the real sense, I would have ignored the original comment and changed topic long ago....just to be tactful...

well done....

If I found a disagreement, I go on to next topic. There is no right or wrong, just a simple thread. You often see people have bi-standard here. He or she can do whatever they like, don't care of how other feel. Sometimes I don't even know there is a word "respect" exist in this forum.

Maybe I cannot write good, but I know how to respect other. It is shame for those who don't.

SO,

Exactly.Hooker,

Let me see if I understand:

SO's straight-forward, no BS, to-the-point, advice that sgani stop crying about re-sale value and ride his new bike is unacceptable, unhelpful rhetoric, but your sarcasm is helpful and constructive?

I'm gonna go out on a limb here and infer from your avatar and location that you're a soldier. (Either that, or you're just a wanna-be soldier, which is a whole other kettle of fish that we need not delve in to quite just yet!). Have you ever had a superior officer tell you how it is, plain and simple, without sugar-coating it? Did you thank him for his, "extremely helpful and highly constructive comment?" Somehow, I don't think so. Geez! Man up!Dbone,

No, I don't think you have slightest idea what SO is, "all about." You've missed the point. You want to focus on how SO made his point rather than the point itself. That's a common strategy, especially when a person doesn't want to address the issue.

I'm the same age as SO. I appreciate and understand his perspective, opinions, technical advice, and sense of humor. When you're pushing 50, you too may find that you're not guite so patient with, (another!) young poser who's talking just to hear himself talk. That's the way it is.

Uh guys,

One thing I've noticed here is that soz and mrinflux have been around in these forums a lot longer than any of us. I personally don't think soz was trying to really insult anyone, these guys tend to be a bit on the sarcastic side.

On the other hand mrinflux, as the rest of us haven't been here that long, and we have all just become fairly new Ducati owners, it would seem natural that some of our questions might seem a bit naive to you. No one "owns" these forums, although it seems to me that a few try.

I'm just trying to say that we can all get along here, soz did point out quite early that he loves to take the piss out of people. Just the other day he accused me of, hmm, how should I put it? Yes, he accused me of having a "soft cock" on a particular subject (you have to see the post). While of course I couldn't say I agreed with him, I also had seen enough of his posts to realize that he likes to rile people up, not a problem.

I just went and studied how to win an internet argument:

You, and anyone else who disagrees with me, is obviously a racist.

Don't like that? Just tell me where you live tough guy, I'll kick your ass, I'm 6,6" and won a UFC back in 2004! I can hit a mosquito at 300 yards with my AR 15, just like when I won dessert storm. UR so blocked!

$16500 OTD works out to be somewhere in the $13 range before tax, lic ext warr etc... compare that number.
Our rule of thumb has always been if you are trying to sell a used model and new ones are still in inventory then you need to be at least a $1000+ behind that marked price.. We have sold two used 848's at the 11999 price point.

Look, we clearly have gotten off on the wrong foot (to say the least). It's nothing personal against you I can assure you. It is just the way you came at me in the other thread out of no where like that. If it was your mission to set me off, which apparently you like to do with people for fun, mission accomplished...

I suppose I'm starting to get a better handle on the dynamic around here now. Initially I was a bit pissed but I'm slowly starting to realize that you're likely a decent guy who posts some useful stuff from time to time, and one that likes to show his "edgy" personality. Now that I have some sense of what you are like, and that you're probably harmless, it really doesn't seem all that bad and perhaps I overreacted a bit.

In any case, could I just make a suggestion that you maybe in the future bitch slap your "prey" around a bit before going at them with the knock out punch

No hard feelings, and I appreciate any and all suggestions you might have about suspension setups and whatever else...no doubt...

In the end, no harm done I guess...

Cheers
