848 or 999

Hi, my first post awesome site/forum.

So I'm ready to pull the trigger and buy my first Ducati. The only trouble is deciding what to get a 999 or 848.

How do they compare to each other as far as riding goes? I love the look of both bikes. Like the dry clutch on the 999 but on the other hand love the single sided swing arm on the 848.

What do you guys suggest?

Tough call. I have a 749 and a 1098 (the opposite, I know but you get the idea) and I couldn't tell you which is my favorite!
 
848

- better dash
- single swing arm
- nicer front lights
- more power?
- newer model
- warranty
-etc

though 999 is a nice bike too i would go a 848
 
It's a tough call.

I'd say before the 848 no problem, in fact I just picked mine up today. Buuut....

I've been looking at the 999 and have to say for what you pay for a new 848 you could pick up a mint 999r or s that would kick the 848's ass.

Then again, I just bought the 848 and previously owned one.
