840, M-HD channel

We have the HD package, the movie channels etc. I just noticed a "M-HD" channel on 840 it says I'm not subscribed to, looks like another movie channel, is this a new channel or?
If it's another Movie Central channel why can't I get it?

If you take a quick look at the PDF file on Bell : http://www.bell.ca/web/tv/en/all_regions/pdfs/channels/channel_lineup.pdf

It will show you its The Movie Network HD.

If you don't know, the nation is divided for Premium Movies.

We get Movie Central (MC1 / MC2 / MC3 / MC4 / EA1 / EA2 / MC1~HD / MC2~HD) in Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Alberta, British Columbia, Yukon, Northwest Territories, and Nunavut

In Ontario, Quebec, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, P.E.I., and Newfoundland they get The Movie Network (TMN / MMore / MExcess / MFun / MFest / MPix / MEscape / TMN~HD / MPix~HD)

Note: Encore Avenue (EA1 & EA2) are the equivilant of MPix and MEscape, these channels are like what I call the "Oldies/Classics"

So the Movie Central/Encore Avenue clan is owned by Corus Entertainment (Shaw Company) (other channels they own would include: YTV, Treehouse, and W! Network)

The Movie Network/M.... clan is owned by Astral Media (other channels they own would include: Family Channel, Teletoon, alot of French channels, and I think they own Viewer's Choice PPV).

That guide is in the BELL magazine too, but my question is, if I get the HD package, and the movie packagae, shouldn't I be getting the HD movie channel?

Yes if you have the HD pack and the Premium movies you will be getting certain extra HD channels

840 is TMN HD(East of Manitoba subs). People in Ontario, Quebec, PEI, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, and Newfoundland get that channel on BEV.

TMN is East - MC is West


You SHOULD NOT be getting this channel.

The channels you should be getting in HD since you have the HD pack and Premium movies are:

841 - Movie Central 1 HD
842 - Movie Central 2 HD

If you are NOT getting these channels and you DO have HD pack and Premium Movies call Bell and get them to authorize Ch. 841 and Ch. 842
