I had just got this bike and it will not start on its own, I have to spray starting fluid ever time in the air cleaner to get it going, but once she's running, she runs like a champ. If I shut her down afterwards she will not re-start without the carb spray. The battery is fully charged and if not I but it on the charger. Will this be the cause? The guy I got it from had "made" some carb to head hoses and they leak a bitof air I am assuming, but no fuel leakage. Also, I set the idle where I weant it and it dies eventually if I do not throttle her back up. Is this too much air from the leaking carb to head hoses or something else? I don't believe compression prob;ems becasue once she gets that shot of carb spray and starts, she takes off. BTW, this was a "self mechanic that didnt even have the plugs gapped right" IMAO!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm leaning toward the carbs are alreay adjusted or else she wouldn't run as good as she does once fired up.

Get the proper manifolds for the carbs from suzuki or possibly a salvage yard. Make sure you have them sealed proper against the cylinder and then get new hose clamps to tighten them against the carb bodies. Since you are gonna have the carbs off, might as well take a look see inside and clean out any debris you find in there. Once everything is buttoned up the way it should be and the cables are lubed and such, I'll bet she will have no problems running like she should

sounds like the carb needs a good cleaning and adjusted. also fix the air leaks while you are at it.
