So much for the Oscar people saying there could be surprised, it was a Slumdog clean up :pout:

I'm so glad that Sean and Heath won :clap: :D, both awesome in their roles :D. Glad for Kate, but I was hoping Angelina or Meryl would win that catagory

Hugh should present every year :D :sigh:
 
Well, you'll definitely be sitting through that category at the Oscars, Mukooh. Melissa Leo was nominated!

Sadly Kate Winslet was only nominated in one category, for Best Actress for The Reader. I thought she put herself in as Supporting for that movie, and Lead for Revolutionary?

I'm confused on the Best song category also....The website is listing 3 songs. 2 from Slumdog, and 1 from Wall-E. Nothing from Bruce Springsteen? I'm confused??

I agree with you. Queen Latifah sounded really good I thought but I too prefer the instrumental and I totally agree about the camera movement.

Sean and Kate two of the best actors of our time :) LOVE him!
 
I actually liked most of the changes they did this year, with past winners saying things about the current nominees (instead of just the past winner passing it off), that was a nice change. And the sets were amazing!

The one thing I didn't like, though, was the 'In Memorium' part. Nothing against Queen Latifah, but I'd rather someone not being singing during that; I prefer just the instrumental. And I didn't like how the camera kept panning around, because it was hard to read some of the names...and they didn't have the pictures zoomed in all the time, like they usually did. I didn't feel it honored them the best it could have. But that's just me.
 
For the most part I liked all the changes to this year's show. I really liked the montages and the whole 5 presenters thing. I could have done with less Zac and Vanessa, but I think Hugh did a great job.

Glad to see Slumdog take home so many awards and I'm ridiculously happy that Kate has her long overdue Oscar. Love her!
 
normally my family and i don't watch the academy awards.....we'll have someone record them for us and watch them the next day....fast forwarding through most of the show....except for the nominations that interest us....

in regards to those nominations i hoping that melissa leo is nominated and wins the academy award for best actress for her performance in 'frozen river'....a film that hardly anyone i know has seen or knows about....yet her performance in that film is garnering glowing reviews.....i was lucky to have seen this film in a theater about 6 months ago.....it's been brought back to one theater, in orange county, this past week because of the critical acclaim the movie and actress is getting.....

i am so excited too! I can't wait for the nominees. Here in Asia it's already January 22 but then I realize that in the US it's still January 21 :p So 12 hours to go!
