I loved Angies earings and ring. the drees was a wee bit boring but she is beautiful enough herself to not need nothing fancy

the show was good although it got a little exhausting by the end. I like the way they were presenting the awards - especially for screenplays. the actor cathegories - its a nice idea but there is a very thin line between singing praises and being pathetic

but Hugh Jackman just blew my mind. I knew he was a good singer but he sang and danced and joked and if someone deserved an award that night it was him for the amazing job he has done
 
DLB´s speech was so genuine and from the heart I teared up a little as well

but my favorite part was probably all the singing Hugh did. he was several kinds of awesome

and I liked Sean Penn´s speech too, especually the last part about Mickey
 
Usually Leo gets nominated, but always loses - which has always upset me! But to not even nominate him - that's just wrong, on so many levels! :(

I'm glad Sean Penn got nominated. He and Leo were the two in that category I was rooting for.
 
This might sound a bit mean but I think (and I really hope she has done that) it's time to move on. Guys come and go, you can't feel miserable because of it your whole life. And it's not like, it was last week or something. I think the media is blowing things out of proportion as well...it's in the past...it should stay there.



It was very touching. :nod: For me the best moment was Kate winning though. :D
 
Hugh was amazing! :love: Man, he's so friggin' dreamy! :sigh: I knew he'd be a great host. I hope they ask him back to host again. :)
 
Awww, good show tonight. I always watch but I wasn't too excited this year, but it ended up being one of my favorite Oscars. Everything looked amazing as were the presentations. I really liked how they did the acting categories.

And hee.............I often get annoyed when one movie wins so many awards but I freaking loved Slumdog Millionaire so I'm quite happy. :D

I didn't think the show was too predictable. Kate, Sean, and Penelope were by no mean locks on their categories so I didn't really find it predictable/boring. And I knew Heath would win, but it was well deserved.

I thought Hugh did a great job! :clap: :love:
 
I agree I really loved the new way of presenting the BIG awards. It really made them feel more important and made all the nominees seem like winners even though only one them actually gets the award. It also did a great job showing tribute to past award winners. Great change by the Oscars.

I actually wasn't surprised at all that Sean Penn won over Mickey Rourke. I expected Penn to win and picked him to win even though I personally wanted Mickey Rourke to win.

I really dislike the Academy and feel they are too picky with their nominees but Overall I thought the Oscars were good this year. But still was bored through alot of it. They really should get rid of alot of the awards no one cares about.

I was happy to see Heath win for his amazing performance as the Joker. It was truly the best performance of the year by any actor in my opinion and one of the best ever so I was happy he won well deserved. I just wish he were alive to accept the award :( and I hope to god he still would have won if he was still alive cuz he deserved it. I wish The Dark Knight got more wins but 2 were do I also think it should have been nominated more then it was but whatever thats the Academy for you they hate big money blockbusters no matter how good they are.

I was also happy to see Slumdog win best picture it really was a great film and deserved to win but still I started to get annoyed and bored with it winning everything. I also was happy to see Kate Winslet finally win best actress award even though I'm not really a big fan of hers it was well deserving and well over do.

I loved the video montages of the romance, comedy and action movies of the year since afterall they are the movies that make the money for Hollywood anyway :lol:. I could have also done without Queen Latifah singing for the tribute thing it was nice I guess by why her? lol. The musical thing was just strange for me too. Hugh opening song was great though. But I did like the new presentations for the main awards like I said and liked all the comedy bits/presentations (Steve Martin/Tina Fey, Jack Black/Jennifer Aniston, Ben Stiller doing Joaquin Phoenix and The Pineapple Express clip) all those were funny. I also though Hugh Jackman did a terrific job hosting :nod:

So pretty good show really predictable and boring at times but you gotta expect that from the Oscars. But I like predictable because I got all my picks right in my Oscar poll this year :D
