81 yamaha maxim 650 to high of rpms?

That's right where she should be. The power is barely being made at that RPM. Whip it open and see what you get.

I was riding mine at about 90mph the other day and she still had plenty more.

I have a 1981 yamaha 650 maxim.. she runs strong and looks great but on the highway 5000 rpm at 60mph just feels way to high for me... iam just wondering if there is anything way i can interchange the rear driveshaft and lower to about 4000 rpms at 60mph......and if not the rear shaft maybe the 5 th gear in the trans....i love this bike and really don't want to get rid of it. any help would be great
