80s teen movies to see

I don't know if its classed as a teen film but everyone should see The Goonies at least once.

Also Saint Elmo's Fire, starring the unbelievably gorgeous Rob Lowe and some great 80s clothes and Footloose.

Yes, an excellent film - but I would not really class it as a typical 80's teen movie.

For a start they kiRAB are pre-teens anyway, and though they get in to some scrapes and there is humour along they way, there is an undercurrent of seriousness permeating the story, and it has a wistful, 50's nostalgia about it.

Not your averages 80's teen comedy at all.

awesome film,my favorite all time movie.it just has that magic innocence thats hard to catch on screen these days..great great film.
It's 1 of those i hope they don't try to remake

Better off Dead and One Crazy Summer

Both films are not everyone's taste(Jon Cusack who stars in both hates them) but I found both very funny.

I've not seen it myself but there is also Fast times at Ridgemont high

Out of all the films mentioned in this thread Stand by Me, Lost Boys and Heathers are the best but none of them are really typical 80's teen films. I always quite liked Pump up the volume as well which was made in the early 90's.

The Lost Boys & An American Werewolf In London

Love the theme tune from The Lost Boys (Cry Little Sister) & it also has in it Echo & The Bunnymen's version of People Are Strange - they work well in the movie
