This news of a reboot of a very recent superhero series depresses me. There's a huge wealth of old TV series' to draw inspiration from, yet for some reason, Hollywood keeps repeating the same characters over and over again.

Which cartoon series (preferably from the 80s, because that's when I was a kid :D) would you like to see brought back to life on the silver screen?

It's gotta be Thundercats for me!

Battle of the Planets / Gatchaman

I thought there was a live version stuck in development hell a few years ago, but can't find any trace of it now.

No problem. :)

Is that the one with 'the golden condor'?

Inspirational thinking! I think I'm gonna have to make a poster for that.

Don't remember either of those. Were they 80s cartoons?

Add my vote to that one! :)

Just typed it in Wiki to have a look and found this (with a citation):
In March 2007 Movie Plus Group acquired the rights to the story from NHK and announced that they would be producing a full length feature film reprising the original story, with the intention of looking at a sequel if the film proved successful. The film is slated to enter production in 2008

..............

As for another suggestion.. what about Ulysses 31 or Visionaries: Knights of the Magical Light?

a CGI version is coming out, but I would prefer a live action version myself!!

apart from that a BRAVESTARR movie woud rock (even though i wasn't a fan of it), or if not, a CENTURIANS one would do for me :D

Well tho Space Sentinels was made in the late 70s, it was shown avidly during the early to mid 80s which is when I watched it, so to me I guess it's an 80s cartoon. I bought the dvd set last year and it's still a decent 'toon. It had 3 "superheroes" living together on a ship - Hercules, Mercury and Astria. Hercules had the strength, Mercury was super fast and Astria could transform into any animal. They had a small robot called MO and Sentinel One was their boss. They lived in a volcano. Don't know if any of that rings any bells for you. Classic 'toon! :)

By the time they made Captain Scarlet they'd pretty much abaondoned trying to make the puppets walk - hence the conveyor belt floor thing in Cloudbase. And the walking problem is why various authority figures such as Comander Shore of Stingray and Commander Zero of Fireball XL5 moved around in electric wheelchairs.
