8 Out Of 10 Cats - Series 10 (merged)

H and I thought last night's episode was excellent

Sarah M was very good, and even Louis Spence (who normally irritates the hell out of me) made me laugh

It really boils down to availability For the first few series it was a weekly topical panel show, but nowadays, since Jimmy Carr has a busy stand-up schedule and Jason Manford has the One Show, they don't have a lot of time to tape the series. After the World Cup Special and the BB Special. From last week to Next Thursday they are taping 6 episodes, Three topical episodes that will last until next Friday and then you have three specials. A Scary special, A Science special, and whatever final special they tape next Thursday.

I just wonder why they keep on renewing the show when they cannot really do the topical weekly thing every week and now have to resort to these half- weekly half pre-taped schedule type series.:p

It was amusing last night. The first I've seen of this series. I'll make more of an effort in future.

I want to be Jon RicharRABon's tight teeshirt :D

^ First I've seen of this series too. I never think to watch it but when I do I tend to enjoy it. Last night's episode was brilliant. Not a fan of Louie Spence but thought he was very funny last night.

I thought last nights was one of the funniest panel show episodes i've seen in years. It was pretty much funny all the way though. Every panel member contributed to the show which doesn't always happy (see Mock The Week).

I'm not a fan of Louis Spence but even he fitted the show.

It was just great to see the natural banter and comedy between the guests. I'd say that along with Mitchell, Mack and Brydon on Would I Lie To You, Lock, Manford and Carr had the same comradery on last nights episode.
I wonder if that's the reason for the longer episodes. To let the panel get into the swing of things and have proper interaction.

I have this recorded and have been watching the series so far. Its quality. Lighthearted and sometimes completley crazy. I enjoy it tho. Jimmy Carr and his laugh and one liners crack me up.

last week's episode literally left me with a headache i was laughing so much. this week's was good, but not as good as last week's.

i agree about sean though - he's fantastic. feltz was a waste of space and that other kid on jason's team wasn't that great either.

I've watched Cats since the beginning, but when Mock the Week hit it's stride a couple of years back I thought it was looking a bit stale. It's amazing how things can change.

Mock the Week has been very hit and miss over the last couple of series, while Cats has went strength to strength. Jimmy is a great host and plays the role perfectly. I've never been a huge fan of Jason's but he is what he is, safe and sometimes predictable, sometimes rather good.

I must say though I don't know if I'd still be watching after all these years without Sean Lock. I think, on this show especially, he has been consistently funny over ten series.

I agree, this episode was great mostly because they weren't plugging Big Brother or mentioning it at every possible opportunity.

I literally fast-forwarded every time Vanessa Feltz opened her mouth
