I have 2 torn disks for which I am in pain with everyday. It turned into a sciatia problem and I actually went as far as to have 4 shots injected into my back to elevate some of the pain. It didn't work. I am now going to neurosurgeon to see what my options are. I do not want to have surgery so I will try to exaust every other option before I do this. My sciatia is caused (they say) from the torn disks. It hurts everyday and sometimes I have to stand still beacuse it will spasm and it pretty much feels like someone is stabbing me repeately with a knine in my left leg from my disks being torn. I am ready to begin ripping my hair out from this. I injured my back before Thanksgiving 09 and it's already March 2010 and it is still an ongoing problem. I even had to quit my job. :-( How did you do injury your back to have 8 disk bulges and tears??
Thank you for your reply! It started when I was in the Army and had to wear a 50 LB flack vest for a lot of time.....then I started to have pain and they found that I had scoliosis and this is what happened a few years later....yuck! Its been hard for me dealing with something like this when the pain changed my whole lifestyle.
I'm in crazy pain every day and I found a specialist in my area that deals specifically with my condition....and i have an appt later this week to go over the mri and find out a good plan but its hard to be prepared for the unknown sometimes lol.
Wow, that' a lot of stuff going on right now in your back. 1st will be medication and injections. Surgery is the last invasive techique. But sometimes you won't have an options.
