I have a 78 Chevy K-10, with a stroker 383, and a manual 4 speed (sm 465). I recently came across and old stock 350 Diesel (out of a 1981 K-10) for sale and was wondering what would have to be done to swap the motors.
Will my 4 speed manual tranny still work, and if so what kind of modifications would have to be made to account for diesel's lower RPM's?
Can I use this tranny for a Chevy 6.2L diesel as well, and if so what kind of mods need to be done?
Would I have to do any modifications to the rear differential gearing as well to account for diesel's lower RPM's?, how about the front for 4WD? I am just curious if anyone out there has done this or seen this done before?
