77 OLDS CUTLASS WITH BLOWN 455... Will a buick 455 fit from the junkyard??

I just bought 77 cutlass with a "blown up 455" for $500. what will it cost me to fix/rebuild it? replace it?
BRAND NEW OLDS GUY TODAY 12-14-09!! This 77 Cutlass has been sitting in the guys driveway for 3 years. He bought it 3 years ago with a "freshly rebuilt 455" (did they even put 455's in 1977???) and on the way home on the highway (only 30 miles into the trip) he heard some noises and a bang and the motor quit and he had it towed home where it has sat now FOR 3 YEARS.
Well I just bought it for $500. Now, should I replace the motor with a junkyard olds 350? Or rebuild this 455... How do I even tell if it is a 455 or a 350? This car has a nice solid body and solid underneath, and has the small "hurst" t-tops... ok, guys, help out a 43 year old NEW OLDS GUY OUT!!! THANKS!!!

Additional Details
OK, guys, I just found out the motor will not turn with a breaker bar.... so it is locked up. Any other pieces of advice? I am trying to get it running on a budget..... like everyone else, right?

OK, I JUST CALLED the junkyard and they said they have a 'REAL NICE 455 IN A 71 RIVIERA' Will the buick 455 interchange with the olds 455 that is in my 77 cutlass?? they want $500 with exchange.. what do ya think??

Back in the 70's GM got in hot water because they put chevy engines in Buicks etc. Most were interchangeable. If it is a 455 and the bellhousing matches, go ahead. There may be differences on top, but you have your motor to use parts off of.
 
The junk yard knows interchangeability questions.
Why not take the motor apart and see what the problem was. It might be a minor problem you could fix for a little money.
