OK - just got a Treo 700w and it has some real, confirmed serious bugs and problems.
1) Call waiting doesn't work. If the other caller hangs up the phone will stay connected and you will be charged by Verizon for both calls. You will have to call end of every month to get credits back for these overcharges. No way to hang up on either caller except to hang up on both of them.
2) 32MB of RAM is not enough. Palm put 32 MB of RAM in the low cost Tungsten E and even 64 MB in the Tungsten C.. in *** 2003 *** . The greedy bastards tried to skim as much as possible and hide this in advertising. Technically it "works" but it's made to be operated as bare bones as possible...
3) The endless scrolling... 240x240 just isn't good, should have been 480x480...
The XV6700 is a thought but it seems like such a horrific phone that I'm not sure if this is the answer. There are many other phones but unfortunately I'm on the Verizon network... but I can switch! I prefer to have the Motorola Q type look and keyboard but it isn't out yet and it's also a Smartphone. I would probably still compromise without a touchscreen if it worked...
