I am in the process of doing the same thing with my 60 Chevy Apache. I am using an Edelbrock performer carberator and intake, I got them at a local wrecking yard for $100 for the pair. You will also need new gaskets for the intake. I replaced all of the fuel lines with copper tubing because it doesn't rust.
