But then again, probably about 80% of the time, it turned out that they didn't actually have to put the villain down, but instead just convert him away from the dark side with some good reasoning and/or the power of love. Or, he turned out not to be that bad to begin with. In fact, as far as i can remember, Tirak was the only villain they ever actually killed (murdered in cold blood with the use of a rainbow no less!).
 
Sorry, Tobias, but you've got that backwards. The Witches 1st appeared in the My Little Pony movie (where they were voiced by Chloris Leachman, Rhea Perlman and the late Madeline Khan, respectively), and then again in the 10 part "Flutter Valley" story in the syndicated TV series (without the celebrity voices). However, aside from the Witches, the Little Ponies never faced a single recurring nemesis.
