6800 mms problem

Anyone else had this issue?

When I get an MMS, the phone automatically connects to the web... the message fails, then reconnects a few seconRAB later to attempt again... when it reconnects, it gets an error saying the message is unavailable on the server, and deletes the notification from the phone.

My settings are correct and messaging has worked in the past.... any ideas why this is? Anyone know how to change the settings so that my phone doesn't disconnect after failing to receive the message the first time?
 
Do you get an error when you're trying to send a message? I was having that same problem with a Telus ROM that I had customized and was never able to diagnose the problem. I ended up flashing a new ROM with a newer version of ArcSoft, and that fixed the problem. What version are you running?
 
im having problems too with mine and a frienRAB moguls. i went and checked the mms settings and noticed that the cricket settings were gone in the servers section. it was blank. so i went in and put the settings back in but i noticed that when i put ok it gets erased again and in the servers section its blank again. anybody know whats causing this, id hate to have to hard reset again. and when i select a pic to send and it opens in the mms composer it says the pic exceeRAB the 1k sending limit and to remove some content. what is this?
 
anyone else think its funny/eery that this same thing is happening to a majority of the 6800/6700 users on here?

im getting a weird feeling in my gut like cricket sent something out and zapped us, lol.
 
It does make you wonder, but I keep assuring myself that they can't change anything because it would screw up all of their other phones, right? I mean, the phones that they're selling have the same settings that we have programmed into our phones hardcoded. OTA can't change those settings, can it?
 
The problem with mine was internal to the phone, and I've never #228'd the phone, so I don't see how cricket could have fragged me.


Now that I think about it.. I loaded the Ev-do PRL last week to see if I had ev-do yet... I wonder if that had something to do with it stopping working.
 
i am also having that same problem is saying message delivery failed and im on your ROM not sure what the problem is
i dont wanna hard reset because i have the iphone theme perfect right now got one little problem wit the pocketCM but im trying to get that fixed now
anybody have any suggestions let me know i would appreciate it
 
I'm a Cricket dealer here in San Diego and it seems that a MAJORITY of flashed PDA's are having problems. It first started with the Treo's, then the 6700's and others.

Cricket is set to release more phones with MEID's and have rolled out EVDO in more markets. With that being said and Cricket's track record......LET'S JUST BE GLAD OUR PHONE WORKS!! :buddies:
 
i was thinking maybe cricket did something too but two of the moguls i did i still still keep losing the settings in the mms server, they just dont stay it goes blank and they havent even been activated. im wondering if it could have been due to changing the carrier name on the screen? i used cdma workshop to change it from sprint to cricket but im not sure if thats what did it. anybody know how to fix it? i got spb backup but to restore i wanna keep all the other settings the way i have them now and just make the mms server section reset back to stock. any help? could i maybe just reinstall the arcsoft mms composer or something?
 
Im also wondering if this has anything to do with the mms not working, I also downloaded the evdo prl onto my phone because the 1040 prl I got from here: http://howardforums.com/showthread.php?t=1213954&highlight=1040+prl didnt work for me at all. When I manually installed it, it set my phone to roaming and when I tried dialing *228 it said I was on the American Roaming Network or something like that and when I looked up the prl it was 291257 or something close to that. So now Im stuck with the evdo prl because I still cant get qpst to read my phone to change my spc so I can OTA and I can get a data refresh to see if that helps.

Also, what I have noticed is that even though when I send a picture message it tells me that the delivery failed it really does go thru. The only problem is receiving. Is anybody else using the evdo prl having the same problem?
 
the only prl I have is the one that I get from OTA.

so far, its just like everyone else, I send it although it says it didn't go through, it actually does.

I also get a notification and attempted download when getting mms, but it doesn't actually do it. I can read the subject, look at the file size, etc., but as soon as I download, the messege expired stuff starts.

also, what exactly is lost on a hard reset? do you have to reflash it? is it as simple as doing a backup and then running the backup after the hard reset?
 
I have a similar problem myself... I have the qwest mogul.
I turned the spc code to 0,s and and have it flashed and have even did all the things mentioned that i found to get mms and internet.

But every time i try to get online or send an mms message it says this:

(Failed to connect
Error Code:1012
Could not prepare Data services.
Please try again if the problem persists you may need to contact qwest)

I don't know what to do about it.
I haven't found anything about this so far..

Any help would be appreciated...
