do all the same reg edits and hacks for the 6700 work on the 6800? also whats up with pic messaging on the 6800 does anybody have it working the way it should and could you post steps on how to get it working? i need to pimp my phone. so anybody got any tricks, hacks, or tutorials let us know about them. thanks.
 
should i soft reset after the reg edits? when i do all the reg edits disappear the x-cricket-mdn and the accept goes back to*/* . i saw there was also some more htc guard things in the windows folder. like two of them should i delete those too?
 
Have you deleted /Windows/Startup/HTC_GUARDIAN? If not, delete that, soft reset, then do the changes. That program undoes any changes that you make.
 
yes in the startup folder i deleted htc guardian but in the windows folder when you scroll down theres two more entries that say htc guardian, do i need to delete those too? they say HTC_CM_Guardian
 
ok yea i saw them i just wanted to make sure they all work cuz some say theyre for the 6700. thanks. also still not any luck with mms. i did delete the guard in the windows startup folder and entered the settings in the configuration and the reg edits. i soft reset and the accept goes back to */* and x-cricket-mdn goes back to x-alltel-mdn. thanks.
 
Did you soft reset before Alltel's customizations installed? That could be the problem...

Quick question, though: once you have everything setup, and don't soft reset, does your MMS work?
 
ok i did the reg edits and didnt soft reset and now my mms works. but does this mean im gonna have to do the reg edits all over again everytime i soft reset? or should it just stay working from now on. thanks for the help.
 
If it reverted the settings last time you reset, I'd imagine it'll probably do it again. I just can't think of what would cause it to do that...

What all is in \Windows\Startup?
 
ok now i can reset and my settings stay. i guess maybe i had to leave the phone on for a little while before i soft reset so the settings would stay. maybe thats the problem others were having. when u change the reg edits for the wsp header dont soft reset right away. try sending and receiving a pic right after you do the settings and leave your phone on i left mine on for a few hours. then i soft reset and the wsp header stays now, it dont get erased anymore. hope this helps others out there. thanks mooingrhinocero.
 
registry edits will not save after some soft resets, or power off.

how i learned to make them save, is this:

1. make registry edits

2. go back to the root folder on the phone in your registry editor

3. exit registry editor

4. hold power button until shut down popup comes on, and select yes or ok.

if you toggle power button without a full shut down, it seems to erase the reg settings, also if you do a soft reset, it seems to erase registry settings. doing a complete powerdown before the phone goes into standby seems to save them.
 
o ok i didnt even know u could hold the power button down on this phone like that to turn it off. but just leaving the phone on for a while after the reg edits seemed to make it stick now i can soft reset and the settings still stay.
