6700 Owners, Friday you will get WM6 (kinda)

I guess i'm going to need to get a 6700 now! XDA-Devlopers is going to release a version of Windows Mobile 6 for the XV-6700 this friday (the 31st).

How hard do ya think it'll be to get it onto Cricket?
 
Looks neat, didn't think it would happen. Hope it's just not a bunch of skins and some compatible programs. I have every software avaliable to test it out, even Office Portable 2007, so we will see.
 
Helmi is the man. I accidentally formatted my 6700's system partitions (very long story), and when I unplugged it from my computer, it was DEAD. Of course it took me a little while to realize what I had just done, and it sank in more and more everytime I pressed the power or reset button and NOTHING happened.

But I remerabered boot loader mode. I threw it into boot loader mode and got ready to reflash to Amoamare's firmware... and that failed, saying that my phone was an invalid device.

Then I found a tutorial on ppcgeeks.com titled "Stuck in bootloader mode?" by Helmi_c, and that brought my phone back to life. I even had a backup from two day prior on hand.

Bottom lines: Helmi rocks, don't mount your system partitions via WM5Storage, and check ppcgeeks if you ever brick your phone "beyond repair."

I'm definitely making a donation when this drops.
 
My download's at 74%. Do you use Palm Threaded SMS? I keep hearing reports of it not working with this ROM, and those reports have me debating not installing it.
 
I just updated mine. now testing it out. Now I have to customize it to my liking, again.

Let's see how long it takes to make it to ebay...
 
People are already talking about selling WM6 Apaches on eBay... we'll see how much they actually get though. Its all Mogul this, Mogul that these days.

I think its funny though that with this ROM on Sprint, I get 5rab more free program memory out of the box than a WM6 Mogul does. ;)
 
I put the cricket version on a frienRAB of mine 6700 and its pretty sweet everything works right away after one small change in the EPST. I just ordered some mogul's tho so im happy to get a touchscreen smart phone again and its hella sexier then the 6700 and not a brick lol.
